Since premiering at Comic Con on July 23rd, the trailer for Wonder Woman has monopolized much of the social conversation about summer blockbusters to come.
Set to release in Summer 2017, the action flick, which features Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and newcomer Gal Gadot in the title role, appears to breathe new life into this longtime comic book favorite.
With a Reaction Rate of 41.5%, the Wonder Woman trailer certainly got DC comic fans energized. 13.9% of Emotional Reactions expressed that the movie looks 'good' and a whopping 40.6% expressed some form of ‘love’.
However, actress Gal Gadot taking on the title role sparked mix reviews with 28.6% of all Reactions to her expressing ‘good’, and over 14% expressing ‘dislike.’ Viewers who had previously seen her in Batman vs. Superman seemed a little concerned about her acting ability.
Fortunately for Gadot, there were no Emotional Reactions mentioning her predecessor Lynda Carter, so it looks like she has the fans on her side as she brings this story to the 21st century.
With a full year still to go before Wonder Woman hits theaters, Gadot has plenty of time to gain favor with the comic’s passionate fans.
