For such a short month February brought a lot of entertainment news. We started big with the Super Bowl and worked our way to the Super Bowl of award shows: The Academy Awards. This year's show was down in both ratings and Twitter buzz compared with last year's ceremony--hardly surprising since 2014 host Ellen Degeneres engaged audiences with the world's largest selfie and mid-show pizza. Another woman stole the spotlight from the movie stars in 2015--Lady Gaga. Gaga was, by far, the celeb who inspired the most reactions of the night, with 10% of all reactions to the Oscars explicitly mentioning her. For comparison, host Neil Patrick Harris was only mentioned in 5% of reactions. Gaga was also the most loved celeb according to Canvs, with nearly 120,000 reactions expressing fondness for her using words like "amazing," "killing it," and "yas." For more Canvs analysis on Gaga's Oscar performance and other trends from the night, head over to the LA Timesand Broadcasting & Cable.
