August is normally a major lull for the entertainment industry, characterized by mediocre movie openings and TV reruns. August 2014 was an exception in terms of quality releases, if not overall studio grosses. We also saw several noteworthy product integrations--Ninja Turtles and pizza, anyone?--and branded sponsorship of entertainment content. We partnered with CNBC to provide a recap of the business of entertainment in August 2014 through the lens of social media data. Using our qualitative insights platform, Canvs, we analyzed how Twitter users really felt about August's biggest premieres and ad campaigns.
